On the 11th anniversary of Melinda’s transition to heaven and back, we sat down to discuss her remarkable experience on the other side. A trained scientist, Melinda’s beliefs about life and death were deeply grounded in scientific traditions. But everything changed in the final weeks of her pregnancy with her first child when she began to sense that something was wrong. Despite scheduling a doctor’s appointment, the day before her visit, she became gravely ill and was rushed to the hospital.
Once there, everything went black, and Melinda had a sudden awareness that she might have just died. In this moment, she was greeted by a spirit guide surrounded by a glowing purple light, enveloping her in immense love and a sense of pure safety. From the spirit realm, Melinda could hear the prayers of her loved ones, and she saw those prayers as beams of orange light. During her near-death experience, she received important messages to bring back including her unique perspective of the spirit body connection. She also shared a profound, soul-deep connection in heaven with her unborn son, Oak, who passed during this medical crisis.
